About Kate Walton
Kate Walton is a documentary photographer and writer who specialises in contemporary issues in Southeast Asia. She has a Bachelor of Asian Studies (Honours) from The Australian National University, and is currently studying for a Master of Human Rights through Curtin University.
Kate speaks Indonesian (advanced), Japanese (intermediate), Vietnamese (basic), Tetun (basic), and Nepali (basic). She is interested in issues of gender, sexuality, human rights (specifically women's and LGBTQ rights), migration, work, alternative media, opposition movements, youth, and identity.
Kate is currently based in Indonesia, and is available for work throughout the Asia-Pacific region. Prints of her work can be bought through Society6.
